Room size good no tea/coffee facilities in room which would be good after a busy day sight seeing. Best to book transfer from airport to hotel as it is so much easier than going to station then onto hotel not much difference in cost.

Good restaurants in the area We found great pizza restaurant which you had to book otherwise there was a waiting time also around the block other good restaurants not that expensive - stay away from those in the typical tourist areas go into side streets better authentic food and better value.

5 minute walk to the Coloseum which was great. A 20 minute walk to the centre but I enjoy walking so it didn't trouble me. I used the Metro rather than buses to get to the Vatican which is a but far away. No problems with Metro as there are only two lines which makes travel easy. On speaking with other tourists they raved about the bus service so I wouldn't foresee any issues there. I never experienced any contact with pickpockets or other undesirables but then again I was alert to this problem by reading other posted articles.Overall I had a fantastic holiday. If you like to explore by walking and enjoy a peaceful nights sleep without the city centre noise then the Capo D'Africa is to be recommended. Hotel is very clean and well presented. Clean sheets and towels everyday. The one downside is that the street outside was a bit tacky which detracted slightly from an otherwise perfect hotel. That aside I will book with this hotel again when I return to Rome. There are numerous cafes and bars nearby. I used La Naumauche; turn right outside hotel and first right again. Two courses, bread and two glasses of wine/coke for 44 euros: good value. Be aware of the restaurants overlooking the Coloseum they are very expensive and staff strike up conversation with you to entice you in. Like a mug I fell for it and got ripped off!!!
Look around up town for places to eat, they are plentiful and most are on a par with prices back home.

No tea or coffee making facilities in room. Would be nice if staff had a name badge.

Pre book tickets on line for colliseum and vatican (still have to queue but not so long), queues horrendus. Take a sun hut and comfortable shoes!

Staff very helpful. We enjoyed the unobtrusive atmosphere in the hotel as we were celebrating our 25th Anniversary and were able to enjoy this to the max.Staff most helpful on last day as we were not flying until 8 p.m.They took care of our luggage and allowed us to enjoy another day's sightseeing.

if weather is dry,Jump on the metro and head for the piazza Populo then work your way back and you can see a host of sights in the one day. We used the metro all the time and found it a great way to travel, as we did not want to be tied to any set tour. We joined the queue for vatican and sistine and although you may wait a while , you are then free to enjoy them in your own way. on returning to the metro at the Vatican try L'isola restaurant which has a good atmosphere and good grub. Last street on left before the vatican

Great hotel in a quiet street yet only 5 minutes walk from the Colleseum and the stop and go tourist bus.
Lovely roof top terrace where you can have breakfast or relax during the day with a drink.
Top Tip
Many good value small restaurants within 5 mins. walking distance - no need to go back into the centre of Rome for dinner.
